What Is Intervention?

When a close loved one is addicted to either alcohol or any other substance and you see the inevitable happening it may be the time for you to intervene and save the world around them and you from crumbling down.

Addiction could ruin their lives and waiting for them to feel the pinch of such a situation by eating the dust and descending to the lowest levels is not what we would expect from our loved ones.

We need not wait till they hit rock bottom like for instance losing their sources of income, being a social outcast with all those friends and acquaintances leaving without a hum, or even family distancing themselves’ from him or her.

You may have tried all that was possible to get them out of such a precarious position but your efforts would have failed but then giving up on him or her is not what you could do as your love and attachment is far greater than all those who have distanced themselves from them.

You may have to resort to subtle intervention to get them away from the inevitable disastrous path they are on and the time would come where losing them would be just a matter of time and waiting for that time to arrive is not what you should be doing.

The onus lies on you to take the initiative and to do something about the situation and that is what intervention is all about, and if it succeeds  you would have achieved one of the most greatest challenging episodes of your life.

Depending on the ground situation if you and others who have rallied together, to give your best shot to bring back the concerned individual from impending disaster, it would be prudent to draft a moving and effective intervention letter to sway the tide to a positive ending.

An intervention letter, well written with enough emotions coming from the bottom of the heart would give you the impetus to bring forth some change of heart from the individual concerned and sway him to take the intervention seriously and come to terms with his prevailing situation and extend the hand to you, to guide him or her through a process of professional expertise to wean him or her from the path that they have been treading thus far.

An intervention would be seen by the individual at the initial stages as a troublesome gesture from your part because the addiction is well embedded in them and anyone trying to interfere would be seen with anger, remorse or as an irritant.

Changing this impression in them would not be a very easy task but through cohesive methods achieving the impossible is what the greatest challenge would be.

There is a need to intervene and that is what you could do the most for one of your loved ones who has deviated from the path of normalcy which we are practicing but then getting them to come along would take a herculean task but success would prevail if your approach is consistent.
